Edison Barn #11

Deconstruction - Move - Reconstruction

Edison Barn #11 began life at the Thomas Edison National Historical Park in West Orange, NJ. In Edison’s later years it served as his private experiment lab. After Edison’s death, in 1940 the barn was moved by Henry Ford to Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. In 2002-2003 We deconstructed the barn, moved it back to West Orange, NJ and reconstructed it to within 10’ of where it has originally stood.

The structure, being twice moved, is considered significant in story, though to a certain extent sacrificial, and was adapted to use as a children's workshop for when they visit the site.
