Letter To My Father

By Dori Malloy

Dad,
Thank you for always being there through all the ups and downs life throws at you and helping me through. You were the best dad in the world and the greatest role model anyone can have. Thank you for all of the great memories you have created and the security you gave. You made all holiday's special which will be some of the greatest memories but there are too many to list. I will always be grateful for all of the sit down dinners with the family and the closeness you and mom have created between all of us. There will never be a greater gift then having you for a father. I can't tell you in words how great it was growing up with a father like you. The love you have shown is so powerful but yet so natural for you I couldn't even begin to explain its strength. Not only did you have that unconditional love for your own children but your grandkids and now great grandkids are getting to experience it too. They say actions speak louder than words and with the way you were no words would ever be needed. You were the true definition of class and were way too honest and the examples you set will stay forever in my mind. Not that I followed them but I knew it was all good. Thank you for always making me feel loved and secure. I love you and am so thankful to have had you in my life for as long as I did, although there would never be enough time I know that's not reality. I will always love you. Mom I know how I am feeling and can't even begin to understand how you are feeling. You have proved to me time and time again that you are the strongest woman I know. I love you mom.
